Colorado Springs, Colo. !Dear Sirs: I have just received your letter acknowleging me of the fact that I did not return approvals a short time ago and I am very sorry to tell you but they have been misplaced by the maid as I have been to busy to mess with stamps as school has started. But your Co. is responsible for the whole affair as in the approvals before the last I distinctly mentioned not to send any more approvals for the above reason therefore I am wiping myself clean of the whole affair. If the approvals turn up later I shall oblige you by sending them to the same. Please do not send any more letters telling me to return said approvals as I am fully aware of the fact and you would be wasting your time and mine. I am still respectfully yours, ! ! (Signed) J. After the war he worked as Chief Counsel under Brig Gen Telford Taylor prosecuting War Criminals at Nuremburg, Germany. During a trip by air in a C-47 with Gen Taylor and several others Jimmie and Marilyn had to jump out over Berlin when the plane developed engine trouble shortly after take-off. They parachuted, along with the others, without serious incident into the French sector of the City. The incident is reported in the Little Rock papers (Democrat & Gazette) of March 18, 1948. !Jimmie and Marilyn eventually settled in Little Rock, Ark where he joined his brother Edwin in the law firm of Owens, McHaney, & McHaney.
