HOME SURNAME LIST NAME INDEX SOURCES GEDCOM FILE EMAIL US | She was married to Albert Galbreath about 10 Dec 1897 in Marion Co., Illinois. (3)(4) [1mchaney.ged] An inventory of DENNIS'S estate is in the Pittsylvania County, VA Court Records Bk 4, pg 176 Oct Ct 1778. The relationship of DENNIS to CORNELIUS I (FATHER/SON) is taken from a Pedigree Chart prepared by ODILE LAWLER, 2627 Nottingham, Houston, TX 77005 (713-664-1838) sent to MARY INGLIS SIMS in Sep 1986. Documentation not shown. Likewise for DENNIS'S wife MARY FRANCIS WATKINS. From MARY INGLIS SIMS: There was a DENNIS McHaney, Pvt VA Continental Line, served 3 years. Land Bounty Warrant #3607 dated 22 Dec 1784-100 acres. Surely not the DENNIS who died prior to Sept 1778 as per Court Records of Pittsylvania Co., VA. More from Mary Inglis Sims: National Archives has no military record for DENNIS McHaney. If a Dennis McHaney served in the County Militia the record would not be in the National Archives. I have not tried to obtain a record for him from any Virginia County. However, National Archives does have a record for JAMES McHaney. It is one pay voucher for JAMES McHaney, Soldier. Inf which reads: "James McHaney appears in a Book under the heading: 'A List of Soldiers of the Virginia Line on Continental Establishment who have received Certificates for the balance of there (sic) pay Agreeable to an Act of Assembly passed November Session 1781....By whom Received: Geneneral Morgan, Application date Apr. 11, 1783, Sum 103 pounds-11-8" (a goodly sum th en I would imagine). Odile Lawler indicated (on her genealogical chart) that an alternative spelling for Dennis' last name is MACKMAHANEY. The LDS records at the church in FWB, Fl. (microfische for VA) lists a WILLIAM DANIEL MACKHANY born 15 July, 1712 New Kent County, St Peters Parish. Information from JOY TROUT JONES, 13344 W. Southern, Avondale, AZ 85323 o/a 1 April 1996 with no references cited is basis for info that DENNIS was born 1700 in King & Queen Cty, VA, also marriage date, and fact that he and Frances Watkins were parents of Cornelius, Mary, John, Terry, and Andrew.
